General Motors has announced the end of the Holden brand, with sales, design and engineering operations to wrap up in Australia by the end of the year.
Holden was retired by its owner General Motors (GM) on Monday, with the company saying it could not make the brand profitable. It marks the end of the brand's death spiral, which stopped manufacturing cars in Australian in 2017.
Auction clearance rates are roaring higher, as 90% of Canberra and around 80% of Sydney, Melbourne and Perth auctions sold over the weekend, according to preliminary figures.
Chinese rideshare company Didi is launching in Sydney on March 16. The company entered Australia in 2018, beginning in Geelong before heading to other cities including Melbourne, Newcastle and Perth.
