Australians have frozen $266 billion worth of debt so far. This one chart shows how few are able to repay it.

At the end of May, Australians had frozen repayments on $266 billion worth of loans, according to new APRA figures. While mortgages make up the bulk of them, deferrals were more common amongst businesses than home loans.

Job seekers are competing for increasingly fewer roles, as Victoria's labour market slides

Since COVID-19, there are at least 800,000 more unemployed Australians but just two-thirds of the jobs, according to the latest SEEK data. More candidates competing over a smaller pool of jobs saw applications per ad increase 10% over the last fortnight.

Florida hits new record for daily coronavirus cases, with more than 15,000 infections

Florida reported Sunday more than 15,000 new coronavirus cases, the highest single-day total for any US state so far. The previous daily record was 12,487 new infections, set by New York in April, Reuters reported. Florida logged 15,299 new cases Sunday,the state's health department said.
